Chairman

Nabhan Akeel is the Chairman/The CEO of Kiddies and Toys International PVT LTD, which is a member of LIMRA Holdings Limited. Being a visionary, self-made chief architect , self-motivated and resourceful senior level executive with verifiable year-after-year success achieving revenue, profit, and business growth objectives within start-up, turnaround, and rapid-change environments. Extensive experience with highly engineered systems, which require deep understanding of critical business drivers in multiple markets and industries; highly successful in building relationships with upper-level decision makers, seizing control of critical problem areas, and delivering on customer commitments.
Experienced in leading and growing four companies dealing in IT, software solutions, branded software products and Mother & Baby care sectors to make it a dynamic and progressive organizations. Possessing an Engineering Degree from Moratuwa University, Sri Lanka and has tremendous knowledge in Management, Accounting and Logistic with experience up to 25 years in the field with profitable relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders across the world.

Leadership Team

Ajantha Wickramarathne

Ajantha is the CEO of KTI. He has been with the company for over 12 years, of which he has spent a majority driving business strategies, formulating business plans, running business operations, and looking after business development and sales across the strategic business units of mother & baby care, toys, and stationary, bringing success in the local and international markets. He counts over 18 years of corporate experience in varied industries including Mother & Baby care, Toys, Software Development, and BFSI. Being a visionary leader, Ajantha has shown immense skills in providing solutions to critical business issues, risk mitigation, innovation, conceptualization, strategic decision making, operations, and people management through honesty and integrity. He was the key strategist behind KTI’s growth and expansion plan, and was instrumental in making KTI the market leader it is today, in the category of branded mother & baby care accessories. He drives KTI’s business vision on building and inculcating KTI’s values and culture focusing on making it a family bonded, emotionally attached company with all of its stakeholders. Some of his long-term objectives for the company are to be ranked within the top 100 companies in Sri Lanka, whilst contributing to the goal of pushing the holding company to be listed within the top 10 companies in Sri Lanka. He also envisions KTI to be able to a pay six-months’ annual bonus to all its employees, whilst being a certified great place to work. His team considers Ajantha to be a lateral thinker, and a good listener who is very patient and compassionate when handling all stakeholders. He is also known to make use of his wealth of Finance experience in helping with his marketing decision making. He holds an MBA and a BSc (Marketing Special) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, is a certified Business Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and is also a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing

Shoheen Hameed

Shoheen is the Head of Strategic Business Unit for Toys at KTI. He is a great business optimist with over 20 years of experience in Strategy, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Brand management. He has extensive management experience in Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Sri Lanka, where he has contributed to Operations Management, Regional Management, Territory Management, Team Building, Brand Equity, Innovation, Business Expansion, B&M, and Inventory Management. Currently, he oversees the toy division, which has exclusive distribution rights to Lego, Mattel, Leap Frog, Maisto, Bburago, Step 2, and the company's own brand Plex. He also oversees KTI's retail, wholesale, online channel (www.Coolkidz.lk), and the company's own fashion brand, First Love. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM - UK).

Suhada Jayawardana

Suhada is the Senior Manager of National Sales at KTI. A dynamic, high-energy achiever with over 20 years of sales & marketing exposure in diverse organizations and having over 6 years of managerial experience. Skilled in customer insight, market planning, distributed team management, developing sales strategies and managing sales team in order to achieve set sales goals, targets and revenue, identifying market, distributor’s issues and resolving and accountable for the performance of 20 distributors across Sri Lanka. He has a special talent to build high performing sales teams by providing strong mentorship, coaching and guidance. and building strong and collaborative relationships with other internal stakeholders. He had served and gained vast experience from the Automotive, Retail and FMCG industries.

Safraz Hussain

Safraz is the Cluster Head of Operations for Farlin. He has over 11 years of experience in Sales & Marketing in different industries including Pharmaceuticals, BPO and Event Management. Having been a loyal member of KTI, he has over 6 years of experience in handling the internationally famous branded products in Farlin, and has been an integral part of the brand's growth strategies in Sri Lanka. During his career at a leading pharmaceutical company, he had also bagged the "National Champion" and "Outstanding Team Member" awards. He is a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM – UK).

Tharinda Illesinghe

Tharinda is the Sales & Marketing Manager for KTI's biggest own brand, KIDS JOY. He is a skilled & dynamic manager with over 13 years of industry experience across commercial corporations whilst gaining expertise in many facets of Business Management. With Industry experience spanning in sales, marketing and business development across well-established commercial corporations within the food, beverages, and office automation industries. Tharinda has proactively launched successful new initiatives in the digital space, and is spearheading the growth and expansion of the brand in the local, and international markets. He holds a Master's in Strategic Marketing from Asia E-University, Malaysia.

Isuruni Fernando

Isuruni is the Manager of Research & Development at KTI. With over 18 years of experience in the market research industry and having worked at leading research agencies in Sri Lanka, she has extensive experience in designing and handling a diverse portfolio of researches including usage and attitude studies, consumer segmentation, customer and employee satisfaction, concept, product and packaging testing, fragrance testing, pricing, corporate image studies, brand health tracking, store equity and mystery shopping across a wide range of industry & service sectors including baby care, personal care, oral care, laundry care, food & beverages, QSRs, telco, banking and insurance, home décor, alcoholic beverages, healthcare, education, automobile, retail, construction, leisure, etc. She holds a BSc (Honors) specialized in Statistics, and is also a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM – UK)

Jehan Noor

Jehan is the Manager of Marketing & Communications at KTI. A self-motivated, results-driven Marketing professional with a record of success in transforming businesses. Jehan is a Certified Professional Marketer with over 15 years of experience in various sectors being an allrounder expanding his career in Branding, Marketing, Operations and Business Development; gained from world class multinational corporations and local blue-chip companies. He holds the Certified Professional Marketer status conferred by the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), An affluential body of the World Marketing Association (WMA); the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).

Mahinda Herath

Mahinda is the Manager of Business Development at KTI. He now has over 19 years of Sales experience within the stationery, beverages, cosmetics and FMCG industries, and is currently overlooking the Business Development of the world-renowned stationery brand, Faber Castell, and our own stationery brand, LEED. He holds a Diploma in Strategic Marketing Management from KDC academy of Management.
